The repertoire for our Let Organ and Voices Resound program has been just what the doctor ordered near the end of a long pandemic: comfort music for the voice and the soul. We have loved singing the rich harmonies of these French, English, and American masterworks from the late 19th Century to the present.

Some of the most popular anthems ever composed like Parry’s I was glad and Howells’ Like as the hart are paired with newer works like David Hurd’s serene new setting of Ubi Caritas and Jonathan Dove’s ecstatically soaring Seek him who maketh the seven stars in a program that will remind audiences why they love choral music––and make newcomers fall in love with it in the first place!

We also can’t wait to sing this gorgeous music with two exceptional pipe organs: the magnificent Schantz organ (1961/2000) at Doylestown Presbyterian Church and the newly restored Whitelegg-Möller at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral (so eagerly awaited in the organ community, Wesley Parrott’s video introduction to its new sounds was widely viewed soon after it was posted (watch it here).

With safety in mind while the latest Covid variant is still among us, we’re all fully vaccinated and have even gotten used to singing with surgical masks! We found a new type of mask brace that makes it easier to hear and sing (and if you listen to our September 1 video of our Hurricane Ida-cancelled Sondheim/Hammerstein concert (here), we’ve come to enjoy the unity and warmth of our sound with them!

To extend safety to our audiences as well, we’re asking all ticket buyers to be masked (we’ll have some on hand if you forget!) and to provide proof of vaccination in advance or at the door. The churches themselves are spacious and fully ventilated with recommended HEPA filters.

Learn more about our safety protocols here.

This need for extra safety won’t last forever, but for now, we can rejoice in singing music we love again, and hope you’ll appreciate and enjoy a space with as much risk minimized as possible. Please come join us!
